Thousands of people converged on Torrevieja on Sunday to witness the most historic event in Spains footballing history. Fans of all ages turned the Paseo Vistalegre into a sea of Red and Yellow as they crowded around a big screen to watch this historic sporting occasion when Spain added the World Cup to the European Championship they won in the summer of 2008. After 120 minutes of unbearable tension the whole area erupted into furious celebration at the final whistle.The usual jumping into the fountain to celebrate continued in Torrevieja until the wee small hours and why not their beloved Español were "Campeones"
